We believe that more rules and sanctions are not effective in encouraging people to think seriously about ethics without enhanced attention to building effective organizational cultures, individual relationships, and communication networks. In fact, current research shows that a primary emphasis on compliance overlooks the essence of ethics and can be detrimental to both professional and organizational integrity.
