FBI-LEEDA, in partnership with The Williams Institute for Ethics and Management, is pleased to present a pioneering new program for law enforcement. This 3-day training program entitled From Fear to Trust: New Ethical Strategies for Law Enforcement, challenges the usual, out-dated “coffee and donut” ethics training that is fear-based and rarely addresses the modern issues facing public safety professional. Instead, this groundbreaking and highly interactive training uses a responsibility-based approach that builds skill and confidences in improving personal judgment and decision making.
Though conduct codes and policies are necessary guideposts to expectations of behavior, no one carries the manual in their pocket for daily reference. But, having the knowledge and skills to make good decisions within those guideposts is the key to building high expectations for ethical behavior.
This training provides the training and tools needed to help organizational leaders build an ethical culture that promotes and empowers people to take personal responsibility for their decisions. Participants are give a foundation for greater AWARENESS, the ability to ARTICULATE solutions and the skill to APPLY a process that will move their organization from a fear based mentality to a personal responsibility. Participants will leave this training with knowledge and skill to make better decisions and help others do the same.
“This ethics training should be conducted in every law enforcement agency. Ethical decision making has to be at the center of the everyday framework of what is going on in Law Enforcement today and this training provides the skills and tools needed to deal with those complex issues.” --Captain Gregg Marcantel, Division Commander, Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department, Albuquerque, NM
