An ethics program that exists on paper but never in the hearts, minds, and actions of the organization’s employees creates a breeding ground for violations. - “Ethical Culture Building: A modern business imperative” A research report by The Ethics Resource Center – 2008

Transformative Ethics Training Programs
Integrity has no need of rules. - Albert Camus
Ethics is, ultimately, about people and relationships, and the choices we make. This simple insight is the basis for TWI’s ethics training. We call this approach Transformative Ethics™. You will learn the value of: empowering personal responsibility for decisions; accepting accountability for how decisions affect people and relationships; motivating ethical behavior that comes from within; and equipping people with the values-based skills and tools that make it all possible.
In ethics training, as in life, what we focus on affects our results:
- By focusing on enforcing conformity to codes of conduct and policies to externally manage risk, the result is an eroding of personal responsibility and accountability. “Show me in the manual where I can’t do that.” “Before we act, is there a policy for that?” Empowerment, individual judgment and morale are diminished. A culture of submission, fear and decision avoidance often is created over time.
- By focusing on transforming people and their relationships by providing ethical awareness and decision making skills to internally self-manage risk, the result is an empowering of personal responsibility and accountability. “I won’t do that because I choose not to.” “Before we act, let’s make sure this is the best decision we can make.” A culture of action, mutual trust, and confident decision making is created over time.
Over the years, and in almost all industries and sectors, ethical violations have not changed or improved. We still see the same type and number. If we truly desire to change this situation, we must change our approach. The same manner of educating or training employees on ethics no longer should be thought to be the answer. To effectively change the outcome we need to bring the decision making process to the employee. We all must realize that nothing changes unless we change. Transformative Ethics can be that catalyst to create ethical change in individuals and organizations.
Building a Culture of Integrity
TWI's ethics training programs provide the framework to build a Culture of Integrity by focusing on building ethical behavior through transforming attitudes and beliefs.
The programs provide the knowledge, tools and skills that give individuals the ability to be a drop of ethical value that can influence and effect change. They transform people and organizations by increasing trust through building strong, viable personal and professional relationships; developing an effective, dynamic decision making process; and holding ourselves accountable for how our actions and attitudes affect our personal and professional relationships.

The transformative approach of these programs strengthens people's ability and will to judge what is right, care deeply about what is right and, to do what is right. It creates more than an “ethics program,” this approach builds a culture of integrity that exists, not just on paper, but “in the hearts, minds, and actions of the organization’s employees.”
Over 100 U.S. Department of Labor Studies demonstrate that…
...an ethical culture that builds respect and trust among its people also adds significantly to a company’s competitive advantage. These studies examined the link between a more progressive approach to people and practices and an improved bottom-line. The results concluded that there is a positive relationship between training, motivating and empowering employees and overall improvements in productivity, employee satisfaction and financial performance.
