The Ethics Awareness Inventory (EAI)™ is a tremendous learning tool that lets students explore ethical perspectives and decision making. The EAI™ helps individuals identify which of four ethical perspectives they tend to use when making personal ethical decisions and offers a simple and effective process for making ethical decisions. Its use opens up dialog in the classroom and moves discussion of how one might approach an ethical situation beyond the hypothetical to real application and self-reflection.
The EAI™ is used in courses in many different disciplines, such as business, psychology, education, communication and general education, at schools such as the University of Phoenix, Western Governors University Teachers College, Thunderbird Graduate School of Global Management, University of California Irvine, Wilmington College, Yavapai Community College, Sierra College, and Rio Hondo College. In fact, one university is using the EAI™ in its general education capstone course, another is using it in a student teacher pro-seminar course. In addition, a large university is using both the EAI™ and our Ethical Choices in the Workplace (ECW)™ instruments, twice, in its new online MBA curriculum.
To assist you in using the EAI™ in the classroom we have provided the three topics below. These pages will provide you with the background you need to facilitate your successful use of the EAI™. Click preview to view a sample of the EAI™ assessment.
